Gaaaaaaahhhhhhh! So much craziness this week! And still more is happening, right now, as I type this!!!!! Between Rolith being sick, have to roll to a different location and spotty connection it's the Revenge of the 13th!
Master of Puppets The new quest is live though! Go and visit Yolande in Atrea check out the latest installment of the Chapter 2 arc. Will you be able to make it through Xan's volcanic fortress?
Friday the 13th strikes again! The bug that caused the skipping of the first cutscene and fight is now fixed! Now you will henceforth be called Xan until you logout or Rolith stops making fixes while sick, whichever comes first!
Wrath of Wargoth The war is coming sooooooooon here!
It is a dire day... the calm before the storm. Even now, forces are consipring against those heroes brave enough to stand against the threat....
Unfortunately, Rolith has already been struck down by a sinister virus! One that, though he denies it, a certain paladin seems to be responsible for! (/coughdon'tcometoworksick/cough)
DA-DA-DUUUUUUUUUNNNN! Is Artix working with Wargoth to take down Rolith?!
I don't know... I'm kinda scared to ask too... who knows how vulnerable rocks are to this sickness!
In all seriousness, though, poor Rolith is out of commission. Which means the quest we wanted to get out tonight needs to be delayed until tomorrow while I hunt down other coders* to see if they can help out! It also means that the Ateala base class previews might get pushed back to early next week.
The Wrath of Wargoth Delays on quests or no... the war doesn't wait! Wargoth is gathering his forces for a final attack.... Fire elementals, molten Squires, and... well, let's just say that more then just Veyla were unable to escape his grasp when Atrea was brought though to Lore!
In addition to Defender's Medals, the war waves will also have a chance to drop Ateala Armaments. These will merge into the watery Escelense Set. Dracelix has crafted this beautiful set and the weapons themselves react to elementals!
Wargoth will be sending an army greater then both of his previous attacks combined to Lore this time. Will you be able to conquer the fiery enslaved forces of almost an entire planet before it overruns ours?
*No, don't run Verlyrus and Khelios! I have cookies! Ok, they're really small pebbles... but they look cool!
The next quest in the True Mortal saga is finally out! Eric has created a huge, monsterous fortress for you guys to explore. Will you be able to find the throne room after exploring all 42 rooms? What other secrets could this massive fortress hold?
If you can make it to the end Soul and Doom Harvester Wing drops will be your reward!
Defend Croft! The war in Croft is at 91%! Can you guys get it to 100% by midnight EST to meet the war challenge? The fate of the Zardbirillaomgiphant and Undead Chickencow pets hangs in the balance!
Once you reach 100% on the war meter, True Mortal has crafted a beautiful set of weapons that will drop from the war boss!
The war rages on... and now, as Sepulchure's forces are beginning to be forced back in the confusion of his absence from Drakath's betrayal, bone chests are being found! The Talus Chest, Horn Chest and Ossien Chest will drop rarely from the war waves until Sunday midnight, though Cysero has somehow gotten his hands on a few that his Orb is selling for 75 Dragon Coins each in his Superstore.
What could be locked away in these mysterious chests? You'll find out next Tuesday.... but only if the war boss has been defeated!
This week is an all out push to defeat Sepulchure's army while it reels from losing the command of the DoomKnight! True Mortal is working ferverishly on war rewards right now. If you defeat Sepulchure's Necrotic Generals you could wield a new weapon to fight against the darkness!
A work in progress!
Coming Soon: Blackwyn Tomb A mysterious light glows faintly in the darkness of Doomwood Forest.. A tomb lost for centuries has just been uncovered behind Hunter's Paradise! Ilon, the archeologist who found it, would not dare to enter. What kind evil lurks amongst the spirits long since buried there? What is causing the Blackwyn line to walk again? Are you brave enough to explore the tomb and find out?
Ghost has been working on this new map for you to explore in a few weeks and there's sure to be lots of goodies to be uncovered within!
The war camp has been updated with two new mini-games for the war! Eric Greydawn has set up the Falconreach Mill and Dodging the Undead to add to your wave killing variety! We're 74% of the way through Sepulchure's Army, keep up the good fight against the the darkness and BattleOn!
The End of Chapter One! Those of us gathered in the Secret Underground Lab have an assignment for those of you brave enough... brave enough to put down your sharp blades, forget your fiery spells, your deft DoTs... and begin again! How long does it take a new player to get through all the Orb sagas and begin the fight against Sepulchure? What level are you when you make it there? Let us know on the forums!
True Mortal and Eric Greydawn have been busy, busy, busy! They've collaborated together to create the frigid War Wolf Set which will be available for Defender's Medals this Friday!
Icy and Sharp!
If you like the look of this set, inspired by True Mortal's Spirit Companion, Thorn, matching pieces to make a full set are in the works!
Doesn't work for Noobie Snacks....
Keep in mind that the helm is still a work in progress and still a while off from being a quest reward.
War Games Eric is also hard at work at repurposing a few of the great mini-games used in war past. Sogger and Elemental Camp will soon be teeming with undead for you to slaughter! What other mini-games would you guys like to see for the final stretch of DragonFable's biggest war? (Kessel Run? ;o Huh? Huuuuuh?)
Havoc rages all over Lore. Falconreach is under siege. The Tower has fallen. The Priestess is gone.
One thing is certain though. We must Battle On! It has been said that it's always darkest before the dawn and that will never be more true in DragonFable then this summer. If we fight together though, Good can triumph! Do not lose hope!
This Friday we will revisit Dragesvard... is... is the glacier melting?!
A new traveller has come to Falconreach! The Lady has arrived in town, late at night, to sell her wares. Right now, she only sells a single staff but make sure to visit the official DragonFable forums and enter the contest to have your ideas added to her shop!
The Lady's hairstyle has also been added to Patch's barbershop for all female characters!
The war rages and the race is on! Sepulchure's army continues to attack Falconreach but you guys are holding the line! If you can reach 50% by 5 tonight not only will you get a new cutscene to further the story... but you'll also get a new set of weapons from True Mortal!
The Challenge has been set! Get to 50% by 5PM EST to get your hands on the fiery Obsidian Dragon set!
So you guys pretty much shattered all expectations this weekend and hit 50% in the war Monday afternoon (beating Rolith in his coding frenzy to finish the zard cuisine, something that we were tossing around on Friday as a cool idea for fun battle buffs)! Since you guys took to my *cough* unofficial challenge Saturday, I'm now going to put forth....
The Official 100% Zard Frenzy Challenge!
Reading through the war threads on the forums, it's become clear that you guys want a zard pet. So Ghost is going to take some time out of his busy schedule of making amazing things to make one (maaaaybe two) more amazing thing(s)... a Rush of Zardlings!
Why, yes, I did spend way too much time animating this random cutscene.
IF you can get the war meter to 100% before the release on Friday, then the Rush of Zardlingswill be added to the loot table of the boss monster in addition to the other war goodies. If you guys don't make it, then those poor little zardlings will have to be content to play in whatever giant, empty box Ghost is going to trap them in until the next war.
37%! You guys rock! (I am officially licensed to say that as a rock myself.) It's great to see how active the war threads* are with all of you coming together and cheering each other on! War poems, song suggestions and personal wave tallies abound!
Midday, and our heroes bombarded, We must fight back before we are Zarded, We must not leave with our hopes discarded, So fight for your lives, as the clouds have parted...
The light shines on you... You heroes are the last hope...
I really think you guys are going to beat Rolith to 50% too! :s So please make sure to keep that in mind, Rolith is going to need time to get the special DragonLord goodie coded!
*Add discussion of this to the current war thread please, to keep it all together for the brave AK's!
You guys are amazing! 25% by Saturday night! You guys are decimating all those zards!
ORIGINAL: monkeyman4241995 I'm hoping that we're giving Rolith enough time to finish. We don't want Rolith to exact revenge for this next Codemonkey Day....
I honestly think at this point that you guys might beat Rolith to 50%! If you get to 50% before Monday afternoon, he's not going to have to get the 50% DragonLord addition ready... and he'd definately be very grumpy if I issued any sort of challenge for you guys to race Rolith to 50%.... 0;)
So, the 50% DragonLord prize is going to have to be adjusted to either 50% or when Rolith finishes programming it, whichever is later!
Keep up the good work though! I'm very proud of all you guys and how hard you all are fighting. I can't wait until you guys get to see the 100% cutscene. Based on everything I've managed to read (ya'll are on the4th war threadalready!*) the final cutscene is going to surprise all of you. :D
Also, great poems Dornalca!
The Zard still come in numbers great and still we hold them back, And though they are so many we will throw back the attack! The town of Moonridge needs us to save them from this horde, So we will smite these enemies down, with dagger, spell or sword!!
I'm back and eager to win!
*Speaking of which, add discussion of this to the current war thread please, to keep it all together for the brave AK's!
You can feel their eyes... watching... waiting.... Their snarls echo through the edges of Doomwood.... The Zards have arrived!
Zards are an unusual reptilian creature that have long inhabited the southern reaches of Lore, but they have never been encountered this far north. These zards, though... well, these zards are angry! Where you felt just a single pair of eyes before, heard just one creature skittering away, now yellow eyes seem to peer from any dark space. Where did they all come from? Who is responsible?
Luckily (well... maybe not so luckily for him), the famed Zardhunter, Irwin Dundee, has come north to study the wildlife indigenous to Doomwood. Surely he can help fight back this enormous outbreak of zards? Even Falconreach is lending a hand with the Nytroglycerine Sponge Catapult.
Very, very unlucky.
What The Future Holds
Rolith is working on something special for DragonLords that will unlock when the war meter hits 50% (well... hopefully, it is a Friday the 13th war after all).
When the war meter hits 100% a very special cutscene will be unlocked, one that take this from just an unlucky outbreak of an invasive species to an uprising that will threaten to encompass the rest of Lore. The sooner you unlock the cutscene, the sooner you will see the origins of the Zard outbreak... but will you be able to find the source before zards cover the landscape like infection?
